Delving into the Wonderful World of Pregnancy

I didn't think it was ever going to happen biologically for me, but here I sit at the age of 35 and 6 months pregnant! There is something to be learned every day with this new chapter I've encountered, and want to pass along some clothes, tips, and tricks I've picked up along the way, or so far at least!

BRAS FOR THE "GIFTED":
As most of you may know from some of my previous blog posts, I am 5'7" with a curvy frame and very large chest. I knew as soon as I found out about my pregnancy that my bust was going to be the first casualty of the pregnancy symptoms. I had to invest in new bras within the first couple of weeks of finding out (week 7 to be exact), as I went from a 40FF to a 42H. Luckily for me, Lane Bryant had just come out with a new line of bras, Cacique, where they carry a wire free style. This has been my savior so far, I cannot even begin to describe! It is the most comfortable bra I've owned thus far, and I'll be wearing these long after I give birth. You can check the bras out here.

I also realized that I just needed support 24/7, like when I'm not outside of the house and just sitting on my couch catching up on Southern Charm reruns. I started looking into nursing bras, and it is so, so difficult to find ones that would fit my gigantic problem. Ladies, I have exhausted almost every avenue for this, I've tried about 5 different nursing/sleeping bras, and the only ones that seem to fit so far are these from Destination Maternity. What I'm worried about is if these puppies get any bigger, I'm already in the last size offered! You can find these nursing/sleeping bras out here.

DOUBLE THE MOISTURIZER:
I suffer from psoriasis, so moisturizing is something I do religiously. I've been slathering on Olay's In Shower Body Lotion like it's going out of style since I've been pregnant, and then follow up with Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion once I towel off. Because of the double duty moisturizing, I've avoided a lot of the itchiness that many women encounter as they start to grow, and hoping to ward off any stretch marks that may want to show up!

COMFY CLOTHES FOR THE BUMP:
Gap is my go-to for a lot of comfy clothes, their GapBody line is my absolute favorite, and I picked up a few items to incorporate into my wardrobe to carry me through the pregnancy at a good price. I also got lucky with some cute pieces at Target and JC Penney- These are some of the things I recommend:
A few basic t's click here.
A couple cami's for layering click here.
Leggings. I live for these! click here.
A cute kimono for over a plain dress or with a t-shirt and leggings click here.
Simple black dress click here.
Cute and comfy shoes (that can accommodate a little growth) click here.

GET BEAUTY SLEEP:
Sleep is something that has never come easily for me, and now that I'm pregnant, getting comfortable enough to sleep and stay asleep is a challenge. That was, until I discovered this pillow! I even recommended it to a friend of mine who is a couple of months ahead of me with her pregnancy. I don't use the pillow the way it's intended in the pictures, instead, I use my regular pillow and flip the pillow so the opening is up towards the head. I prop my feet up on the "head" part and it helps alleviate aches and swelling. Ladies, sleep as much as you can, naps are giving me life right now! You can find the pillow here.

A LITTLE LIGHT READING:
I'm fortunate enough to have many new moms in my life, and with those connections comes wisdom. I have a few baby books that they have said are very helpful, and so I'm in the middle of reading:
On Becoming Baby Wise, you can find the book here.
What to Expect While You're Expecting, you can find the book here.
Strong as a Mother, you can find the book here.

Now that I'm entering my third trimester, I'm going to be taking a little time off to relax and get ready for baby. I'll be back at it in March 2019, and most likely with even more style wisdom for a new mom! Wish me luck!
